IFIC Foundation Comments to FDA on Alternate Name for Potassium Chloride

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued draft guidance regarding the use of an alternate name for potassium chloride in food labeling. The International Food Information Council (IFIC) Foundation has developed a response to FDA’s call for public comments. Additionally, the IFIC Foundation’s response includes new consumer research that evaluates consumer attitudes – including perceived safety, taste and healthfulness – about potassium chloride as well as proposed alternative names. The results of that study, as well as the IFIC Foundation’s submitted comments, can be found below.
